Since their construction in 1957, the properties had undergone no major structural alterations. A complete refurbishment of the 1- to 2-room apartments was therefore carried out. The demolition works were extensive, stripping the buildings back to their structural shells. The building envelopes were upgraded with external thermal insulation and a rendered finish, as well as new windows and blinds. The bathrooms and kitchens in all 41 apartments were also fully renovated. The addition of new upper floors created space for a total of three penthouse apartments, constructed using a hybrid building system.
